World Sanskrit Day 2023: Know The Significance And History Of World’s Oldest Language!

Sanskrit has a wide range of vocabulary therefore it’s contribution towards other languages like Greek, Latin and English is notable.

Sanskrit is one of the world’s oldest and scientific languages, World Sanskrit Day is celebrated every day on the full moon day of Sawan Month. This year World Sanskrit Day is being observed on August 31.

The main purpose behind celebrating this day is the promote Sanskrit so that more people can be aware of the world’s oldest language.

All the Hindu scriptures including the Vedas, Geeta and Upanishads are written in Sanskrit. Talking on a historical note, the government of India started to celebrate Sanskrit Diwas in 1969. This day is also a tribute to renowned Sanskrit Scholar Paṇini as his contribution towards the evolution of the language is monumental.
