Days after a low-intensity explosion happened close to the Israeli embassy in the city, Delhi Police have filed an FIR against “unknown” individuals, authorities announced on Saturday.
Based on a complaint made by a police officer, the Tughlak Road police station registered an FIR under Section 3 of the Explosive Substances Act, which provides punishment for causing an explosion likely to endanger life or property.
The blast occurred on Tuesday evening in the area between the boundary walls of a house on plot number 4 — Nanda’s House — and the Central Hindi Training Institute on plot number 2A on Prithviraj Road. The area has bushes, plants and trees and no CCTV camera, according to PTI.
It runs parallel to Prithviraj Road on Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Road, behind the Israeli embassy.
The blast did not injure any people. In the vicinity of the explosion site, police discovered a “abusive” letter addressing the Israeli ambassador.
