Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Kurukshetra on Tuesday, marking a significant day of cultural, spiritual, and historical observances.
Following his participation in the Dharma Dhwajarohan Utsav at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir in Ayodhya, he visited Kurukshetra. He then inaugurated Panchjanya, a newly constructed monument dedicated to the sacred conch of Lord Krishna.
The Prime Minister was accompanied by Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, who welcomed him wearing a traditional ‘kesari’ turban. During the visit, PM Modi toured the Mahabharata Anubhav Kendra, an immersive cultural centre set to open soon for visitors from across India and abroad.
PM Modi’s visit to the historic city also focused on honouring the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur. Ahead of his arrival, he posted a message on X praising the Guru’s unparalleled sacrifice, describing it as a beacon for humanity and faith.
To commemorate the anniversary, the Haryana government and the Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee are hosting special programmes in Kurukshetra. The Prime Minister is expected to attend the commemorative ceremony and pay homage to the ninth Sikh Guru’s steadfast courage and protection of religious freedom.
Chief Minister Saini highlighted the state’s commitment to promoting the teachings and sacrifice of the Sikh Gurus. He emphasised the need for future generations to draw inspiration from their profound contributions to humanity.
Participation in International Gita Mahotsav
PM Modi’s itinerary also includes participation in the International Gita Mahotsav – 2025. He is slated to attend the Maha Aarti and address several important initiatives designed to elevate Haryana’s cultural and spiritual heritage.
With the Prime Minister’s arrival, the Kurukshetra district has been placed under heightened security. Multi-layered arrangements have been deployed to ensure a seamless and secure visit throughout the day’s events.
