Two boys allegedly kidnapped a 15-year-old girl from Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, and then gang-raped her.
The incident occurred on Thursday while the minor and her two brothers visited the Dussehra fair. Two boys on bikes abducted her as she was going home, took her to a remote location, and raped her.
Afterwards, they abandoned her there in a serious state and ran away.
The victim’s uncle found her and informed her mother. Later both of them reached the police station to file a case.
Instead of reporting rape, police allegedly registered a case citing eve-teasing.
If the girl mentioned rape, the police warned her that it would damage her reputation and that no one would marry her. Given that the accused are minors as well, the family claimed, they even informed her that the accused would be released in three months.
Police, however, denied the accusations and stated that they will add charges if necessary after receiving the girl’s medical report.
