Early on Friday morning, an earthquake of a magnitude of 4.3 on the Richter Scale struck Afghanistan’s Hindukush region. The National Center for Seismology reports that the earthquake happened at 4:51 a.m. and was 17 kilometers deep.
6.4 magnitude earthquake rocked Afghanistan yesterday
On Thursday afternoon, after a 6.4 magnitude earthquake rocked areas of Afghanistan and Pakistan, tremors were detected in several parts of North India. There were tremors reported in Lahore, Pakistan, and other parts of North India, as well as in Poonch, Jammu and Kashmir. Many locations in Delhi NCR reported experiencing mild tremors. The National Centre for Seismology reported that the epicenter of the 2.50 pm IST earthquake was located in the Hindu Kush mountain range of Afghanistan, 241 kilometers northeast of Kabul.
No damage reported so far
In the last three months, Afghanistan has seen three significant earthquakes. In the meantime, there were tremors felt in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan, as well as in Lahore, Peshawar, and Muzaffarabad, three important cities. As per the officials, no reports of property damage has been reported so far.

According to report from AP, Sahibi Bibi, a woman who lives on the outskirts of Islamabad said, “We quickly came out of our home and we saw some other people also standing outside their houses.”
A resident from Afghanistan Mohammad Khan said, “I knew that it should not be less than magnitude 6 when I felt the earthquake as we have felt strong earthquakes in the past.”
