In a significant development, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has apprehended Mohammed Gaus Niyazi, one of its most wanted gangsters, in South Africa. Niyazi, who had a bounty of 5 lakh rupees on his head, was a key figure within the Popular Front of India (PFI) and stands accused of the 2016 murder of RSS leader Rudresh in Bangalore.
Despite evading authorities for years and relocating to different countries, Niyazi’s luck ran out as the Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) took the lead in tracking his movements. Cooperation between the ATS and the NIA, along with assistance from South African authorities, led to his successful arrest.
Niyazi’s travels were initially tracked by the Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), which later provided vital information to the federal agency. Following the notification of South African authorities, the fugitive was successfully apprehended on their territory.
The nation was rocked by Niyazi’s role in Rudresh’s murder, and law enforcement began pursuing him assiduously.
The extradition process moved quickly when the fugitive was arrested in South Africa, and he is currently on his way to India. According to sources, he is presently being taken to Mumbai, where he will stand prosecution for his suspected role in the assassination of the RSS leader.
