PM Modi, Leaders Extend Birthday Wishes to Bharat Ratna LK Advani

Prime Minister Narendra Modi met veteran BJP leader and Bharat Ratna awardee Lal Krishna Advani at his residence on Saturday and personally extended birthday greetings. He wished Advani good health and a long life.

Posting on X, PM Modi wrote, “Greetings to Shri LK Advani Ji on his birthday.

A statesman with towering vision and intellect, Advani Ji has dedicated his life to India’s progress.

He has always embodied selfless duty and steadfast principles. His contributions have left an indelible mark on India’s democratic and cultural landscape. May he be blessed with good health and a long life.”

Union Home Minister Amit Shah also conveyed his wishes, calling Advani “an inspiration for millions of BJP workers.”

In his X post, Shah wrote, “As a founder member and former national president of the BJP, Bharat Ratna LK Advani Ji has devoted his life to the nation. From strengthening the party at the grassroots to enhancing national security as Home Minister, his contributions remain unparalleled. His leadership during the Ram Janmabhoomi movement awakened national consciousness across India.”

Former Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu also tweeted, “On the occasion of the birthday of Shri Lal Krishna Advani Garu, a towering figure in Indian politics and a personal mentor, I conveyed my best wishes at his residence in New Delhi. His patriotism, discipline, dedication, and unwavering resolve set an example for the youth. I pray that God grants him perfect health.”

Born on November 8, 1927, in Karachi, Advani experienced the trauma of Partition during his early years.

He attended St Patrick’s School in Karachi and later Bombay Law College. He joined the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) at the age of 14, marking the beginning of his lifelong public service.

Advani began his career in journalism as an assistant editor with the weekly Organiser.

He soon transitioned into politics, emerging as one of India’s most influential political leaders and thinkers.

Over decades, Advani played a pivotal role in shaping the BJP and contributed significantly to India’s democratic and political discourse.
