Man breaks Guinness world record
Running in high heels can be difficult for anyone as it can damage their feet, ankles, and lower back.
A 34-year-old Spanishman Christian Roberto Lopez Rodriguez broke the world record for the fastest 100-meter sprint while using stiletto heels. Mr. Rodrigues ran the sprint in 12.82 seconds while wearing stilettos measuring 2.76 inches. The man was successful in obtaining the Guinness World Records.
Guinness World Records posted a video on their Instagram handle with the caption, “Fastest 100 meters in high heels (male) 12.82 secs by Christian Roberto Lopez Rodriguez.” In the footage, Mr. Rodriguez is seen running while wearing black stilettos.
It’s interesting to note that Mr. Rodriguez’s time was only 3.2 seconds slower than Usain Bolt’s world record for the 100-meter sprint in the Olympics.
Christian, holds 57 different world records. Talking about his preparation, he told the record book, “The preparation was very exhaustive and specific.”
He added, “I find it very challenging to be able to run in high heels at high speed. In Spain, there are races like this, and they have always gone well for me.”
The man managed to surpass Germany’s Andre Ortolf’s previous record, which he had set in 2019 with a time of 14.02 seconds. Mr. Rodriguez has broken other records in the past, such as the jumping jacks in one hour and the fastest mile controlling a tennis ball.
The post went viral in seconds, people were amazed after watching the video.
“I’m surprised a woman doesn’t hold this record,” commented one user on the post.
“When playing in your mom’s heels as a kid pays off,” wrote another user jokingly.
While another wrote, “This is a record I want to break.”
