West Bengal Mamta Banerjee Writes To PM Seeking State’s Pending Fund Release

Banerjee said that her government did not “trust” the central government to provide rations to the population, saying instead that it would do so with its own resources.

In a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee requested that the Center to release financial dues of the state.

In the letter, Banerjee said that her government did not “trust” the central government to provide rations to the population, saying instead that it would do so with its own resources. The West Bengal administration has reportedly claimed that the Centre has not released Rs 7,000 crore for the state’s ration. They declared that the state government will use its funds to provide the impoverished with rice, wheat, and other ration products all year long.

State did not accept color chosen for educational institutions by centre

Banerjee visited Prime Minister Modi in Delhi on December 20, 2023, and they discussed the disbursement of outstanding central money to West Bengal. In the letter, Banerjee stated that the state government did not accept the color and logo chosen for educational institutions, by the Center’s directions.

West Bengal CM said, “Recently, every state has been sent guidelines by the Centre to use other colors and government logos in educational institutions. In this case, the educational institutions run on state government funds.”

Banerjee reported that the state’s offices of the federal government were being given new colors. She mentioned that the color of the metro stations had been altered by the Railways. The Prime Minister’s Office has not responded yet.
