Kapil Sharma-Huma Qureshi-Hina Khan Summoned By ED In Mahadev Gaming App Case

Sourabh Chandrakar and Ravi Uppal, two prominent figures in the dark world of online betting, have networks not only in India but also in the United Arab Emirates, Sri Lanka, Nepal, and Pakistan.

In connection with a case involving the Mahadev gaming app, comedian-actor Kapil Sharma, along with actors Huma Qureshi and Hina Khan, are summoned by the Enforcement Directorate, sources said today.

Ranbir Kapoor, an actor who has appeared in numerous advertisements for the app, was summoned by ED on Friday. According to the investigation agency, he received a sizable sum of money in return that came from criminal activity.

According to the investigation agency, the Mahadev Online Book App, which is at the centre of the controversy, is an umbrella syndicate that sets up online platforms so that illegal betting websites can sign up new users, create user IDs, and launder money through a complex network of benami bank accounts.

Sourabh Chandrakar and Ravi Uppal, two prominent figures in the dark world of online betting, have networks not only in India but also in the United Arab Emirates, Sri Lanka, Nepal, and Pakistan.

Surprisingly, up until a few years ago, Uppal owned a tyre shop while Chandrakar ran a juice shop for residents of Chhattisgarh’s Bhilai.

The two travelled to Dubai with their savings and there they met a sheikh and a Pakistani national who eventually collaborated to launch the online betting app. Chandrakar and Uppal quickly established a “name” for themselves in the world of betting. The two soon started earning at least 200 crore per day.

Chandrakar allegedly spent 200 crore rupees in cash on his lavish wedding this February in United Arab Emirates. Visitors were flown from India to the UAE on private jets.

The wedding invited 14 Bollywood celebrities to give performances. All are currently being monitored by the Enforcement Directorate. In raids at 39 locations in Mumbai, Kolkata, and Bhopal last month related to the Mahadev online betting app, investigators seized assets worth 417 crore.
