More meetings and venues have been added to India’s G20 agenda, according to authorities. India said at the start of its G20 presidency in December last year that approximately 215 meetings will be held in approximately 50 sites across all states. Officials announced that the number of booked meetings has increased to 230, with up to 60 cities hosting these events.

According to reports,

They include Ramnagar in Uttarakhand, Kavaratti in Lakshadweep, and Diu Island in the Union Territory of Daman & Diu.

On Thursday,

The Youth20 engagement group held a day-long meeting in Imphal, Manipur. According to officials, no further meetings are planned in Manipur.

In fact, the G20 calendar has entered a frenetic period, with up to 125 meetings scheduled over the next four months in the run-up to the G20 Leaders Summit on September 9-10 in New Delhi.

Since India took the G20 presidency in December 2022, there have been 105 meetings under various interaction groups, Sherpa tracks, and ministerial meetings in the last five months. Even though India’s G20 chairmanship ends on November 30, the months following the summit will be light on talks and parleys, with only a few side events.

According to officials, India has also launched various new projects during its leadership. The G20 Chief Scientific Advisors Roundtable, for example, brings together the Chief Scientific Advisors of the G20 Heads of State in order to build an effective institutional forum for discussing global science and technology policy. In March, the G20-CSAR met for the first time at Ramnagar, Uttarakhand.
