The Criminal Law Act 2018

The Criminal Law (Amendment) Act, 2018, which was passed to effectively deter sexual offences, is one of the “number of initiatives for the safety of women across the country,” according to the government’s statement to Parliament. The law places more emphasis on punishing the guilty and stipulates even harsher punishments, including the death penalty, for the rape of girls under the age of 12.
