Bharat Express will host its Urdu Conclave under the banner ‘Bazm-e-Sahafat’ on Wednesday, November 26, 2025.
Bharat Express is organising the event, themed ‘Naye Bharat Ki Baat Urdu Ke Saath’, in collaboration with the Delhi Urdu Academy (Arts, Culture and Language, Delhi Government).
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, Delhi Government Minister Kapil Mishra, Bharat Express News Network CMD and Editor-in-Chief Upendrra Rai, Union Ministers Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Ramdas Athawale, Prof SP Singh Baghel, Kirti Vardhan Singh, Lok Sabha MP Jagdambika Pal and other prominent personalities will attend as special guests.
Urdu enthusiasts, journalists, writers, academics, and students from across the country will participate in the event.
Bharat Express will hold it at the India Islamic Cultural Centre auditorium on Lodhi Road from 10 AM to 10 PM.
The opening session will begin at 10:30 AM, chaired by CMD Upendrra Rai. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, Minister Kapil Mishra, and renowned personalities like Dr Rashmi Singh will feature in the inaugural proceedings.
Dr Khalid Raza Khan will deliver the welcome address, while Dr Nisar Ahmed Khan will moderate the session.
The second session, from 12 PM to 1:30 PM, will discuss Urdu’s role in Indian politics.
Union Ministers and MPs, including Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Ramdas Athawale, Kirti Vardhan Singh, Prof SP Singh Baghel, and Jagdambika Pal, will address the audience.
Delhi Assembly Speaker Vijendra Gupta and other dignitaries will also speak at the event. A lunch break will follow from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM.
The third session, from 2:30 PM to 3:15 PM, will feature a panel discussion on Urdu’s contribution to New India.
Dr Khalid Raza Khan will moderate the discussion, with participants including Kamna Prasad, Dr Shams Iqbal, and Kanwar Ranjit Chauhan.
The fourth session (3:15 PM – 4:30 PM) will explore Urdu journalism’s role in nation-building, moderated by Dr Nisar Ahmed Khan, featuring eminent writers and editors from All India Radio, Munsef TV, and other media outlets.
The fifth session, from 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM, will focus on the contribution of educational institutions and scholars in promoting Urdu. Dr Habib-ur-Rahman will moderate the session.
The sixth and final session, from 6 PM to 9 PM, will be an All-India Mushaira and poetry gathering.
Shakeel Azmi will chair the session, while Moin Shadab will manage the event.
Celebrated poets and performers, including Barkha Singh, Iqbal Ashhar, Anil Agrawal, Manika Dubey, and Ajhar Iqbal, will participate in the event. They will entertain audiences with recitations and couplets.
The Bharat Express Urdu Conclave promises to be a landmark event. It will celebrate the language’s cultural, political, and literary significance in contemporary India.
