This past weekend, while watching a movie, women’s rights advocate Malala Yousafzai and her husband Asser Malik shared a lovely photo on Twitter. In the picture, Ms. Yousafzai, wearing a pink salwar kurta, and Mr. Malik, dressed as Ken, are seen enjoying the release of the new Margot Robbie movie on Sunday.
Over 83,000 people retweeted the article, which had close to 30 million views. Many of Ms. Yousafzai’s supporters commented on the “cute fun pic” with thousands of heart emojis to show their joy.
She tweeted back at Mr. Malik, who replied with “I’m Kenough” and an emoji for laughing out loud.
The Nobel Prize laureate revealed on Instagram that she and her husband really enjoyed the movie “Barbie” after watching it. “We really enjoyed the film; it was both humorous and deep. I sincerely hope that none of the Kens are harmed by this caption as much as the movie Ken,” Ms. Yousafzai added.
One Instagram user wrote, “This Barbie inspires all the other Barbies.” Another person commented, “Best Barbie caption I’ve read so far.”
A third user remarked, “This is amazing; you two are adorable.”
Greta Gerwig’s film “Barbie,” which broke second-weekend box office records on Friday with $93 million, had another successful weekend, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Ms. Yousafzai was transported to a specialised hospital in Birmingham, United Kingdom, after surviving a Taliban attack in the Swat Valley in October 2012. Following her recuperation, Ms. Yousafzai launched a campaign to support girls’ education.
