Shivraj Chouhan 'Apologises' To Victim, Washes His Feet

The accused has been charged by the Madhya Pradesh Police under Sections of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989, as well as provisions of the National Security Act (NSA), 1980.

Chouhan had tweeted his rage over the incident, adding, “NSA has been invoked, bulldozers are also working, and if necessary, we will even bury the culprits 10 feet under the ground. The message is absolutely evident so criminals in Madhya Pradesh consider ten times before breaking the law.

On his Twitter account, the MP CM posted a video and a series of photographs showing himself washing the victim’s feet and apologising to him.

“I met the minister, it felt good. He called up my family and spoke to them,” Rawat was quoted as saying after the meeting.

The updated 10-second video, which is claimed to be several months old, went viral on social media on Tuesday, causing chaos in the state. Pravesh Shukla is shown in the video supposedly peeing on a man who is allegedly drunk and smoking a cigarette.

Meanwhile, late on Wednesday night, residents were spotted yelling about the event and showing slippers to BJP MLA Kedarnath Shukla.

The Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989, and the National Security Act (NSA), 1980, are both utilised to charge the accused by the Madhya Pradesh Police.

By expressing his views on the incident, Chouhan had tweeted saying, “NSA has been invoked, bulldozers are also working and if needed, we will even bury the criminals 10 feet under the ground. The message is clear, so people with wrong intentions think 10 times before committing crime in Madhya Pradesh.”
