Chief Minister of Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal ordered suspension of teacher and vice principal of a government school in Delhi who failed to report sexual assualt on a boy by his classmates on Tuesday.
Kejriwal even directed Directorate of Education to prepare material for teachers to take reference and also issue guidelines in schools to handle cases of sexual assault for teachers and principals.
In order to ensure such horrific incidents don’t occur in future Delhi Education Minister Atishi wrote to the Directorate of Education to provide strict training to school teachers and principals on POCSO Act.
Two complaints have been filed by two boys of 12 and 13 years respectively to police alleging that he was sexually harassed by him six- seven classmates. The incident happened in summer camp organised in April.
A boy of class 8 lodged a complaint stating that his classmates deliberately took him to a park and then sexually harassed him. They even threatened the victim not to reveal the truth to the teacher as per sources.
The minor went to the teacher to report the crime but he asked the victim to stay silent. Eventually, he disclosed the incident with his parents who made a PCR call and later filed a case on Sunday.
