Smriti Irani, a union minister, stated on Tuesday that the Modi administration has created 58% more jobs for young people than the UPA administration.
She claimed that more than 8.8 lakh young people had found employment so far while speaking at the Rozgar Mela held here.
Almost 70,000 newly hired personnel in government ministries and organisations received appointment letters, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi participated in the occasion via video conference. A job fair called the Rozgar Mela was held in 43 locations nationwide.
New job opportunities are continuously being generated in both private and government sectors. A large number of youths are also coming forward for self-employment, Irani said.
“The Modi government has given 58 per cent more jobs to the youth as compared to the previous government. So far, more than 8.8 lakh youths have got jobs,” she said.
In accordance with the Mudra Yojana, which offers loans to business owners without a mortgage, the government has already disbursed loans totaling Rs 40 crore.
Out of this, loans worth Rs 27 crore have been given to women, she said.
Smriti Irani spoke on the support given to women and members of Scheduled Tribes via the Stand Up programme, which is one of the government’s programmes for lending to entrepreneurs.
One person getting employment can change the lives of thousands of people, she said.
According to official sources, appointments are also being made by state governments and union territories in support of the Rozgar Mela’s programme. In many departments, there are also new hires coming from all around the nation.
