In the 2019 general elections, Smriti Irani defeated Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in Amethi, taking the seat away from the Gandhi family for the first time in more than 20 years.

As the Lok Sabha elections heat up, political luminaries from various parties are crisscrossing the nation.

Smriti Irani asserted that Rahul Gandhi plans to visit Amethi after April 26 to exploit caste divisions and engage in temple visits one after another.

The Congress and the Gandhi family are unable to accept Narendra Modi, who rose from poverty to become the country's 'pradhan sevak' (chief servant) with the blessings of all of you through hard work, commitment, and honesty, according to the Amethi MP.

The Congress party has yet to pick their candidate for the 2024 Lok Sabha election from this constituency.

Amethi, which is considered as a VVIP constituency, was represented by the Nehru-Gandhi family until Union minister Smriti Irani wrested the Lok Sabha seat in 2019.

She said that the Namdars dominated Delhi with the backing of the people of Amethi, but they did not think about Amethi, and Rahul Gandhi, in particular, paid little attention to Amethi's growth.

Rahul Gandhi, a former member of parliament for the constituency and Irani, also visited Amethi, making it a very busy day in the constituency.

As Amethi remains a focal point in Indian politics, it is poised to witness yet another intense contest between Rahul Gandhi and Smriti Irani in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.

Irani stated at a gathering that seven central universities have responded to the government's initiative with proposals.
