Annual Festival ‘EDESIA’ Begins At NIFTEM-K, Dr. Oberoi Emphasizes Collaboration With IIT

After the inauguration ceremony, various cultural programs and sports competitions were organized in the event.

The annual festival ‘EDESIA’ started at the National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management (NIFTEM-K), Sonipat, a prestigious institute of Ministry of Food Processing, Government of India. The objective of this festival is to establish harmony among studies, research, art, culture and sports among the students.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Dr. Harinder Singh Oberoi, Director, NIFTEM-K, emphasized the institute’s commitment to excellence in food technology, education, research and said that the aim is to transform NIFTEM into an educational quality center on par with institutes like IITs and MIT.

Along with this, Dr. Oberoi emphasized on collaboration with institutions like IIT and use of technology like AI. The inaugural ceremony was attended by Shri Ashok Kumar, Vice Chancellor, Haryana Sports University, Prof. M.N. Doja, Director, IIIT Sonipat, Delhi-NCR and Dr. Paramjeet S., Vice Chancellor, SRM University, Sonipat. Jaswal and Vice Chancellor of Bhagat Phool Singh Women’s University, Khanpur, Prof. Sudesh made a dignified presence.

After the inauguration ceremony, various cultural programs and sports competitions were organized. Along with this, a successful effort was made to make the society aware through street drama and to also expose the prevalent evils. In Kavi Sammelan organized in evening, Prateek Gupta, Shrikant Shri, and Rasik Gupta and Nandini Srivastava recited poems full of patriotism and humor.

After this, stand-up comedian Madhav Mahendru made students burst into laughter and then they danced to the captivating performance of ‘Kash Band’ which continued late into the night. DJ Riya will perform on Sunday, the last day of the festival.
