Congress Parliamentary Party Chairperson Sonia Gandhi on Tuesday anticipated a political ‘tamasha’ following the release of her memoir, Belonging: A Journey of Love, scheduled for November 10.
In a message on X, she wrote, “There’s bound to be some tamasha when this book comes out. After all, others have spent decades telling my ‘story’, now it’s my turn.”

Sonia Gandhi Shares First Look of Book
On October 22, Sonia Gandhi joined Instagram and introduced her forthcoming memoir through her first post on the platform.
“Hello everyone, I’m truly grateful to share this moment with you all: The first look of ‘Belonging: A Journey of Love’. It is a story of love, duty, loss, and finding a place to belong. I look forward to sharing it with you,” she wrote.
A video accompanying the post showed Sonia Gandhi receiving the first copies of her book and sharing sweets with her daughter, Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra. The two also embraced.
Sonia Gandhi has since attracted more than 10,700 Instagram followers. Her account follows her children, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, along with the Indian National Congress.
Alfred A. Knopf will publish the memoir internationally, while HarperCollins India will release it in the country. Pre-orders are already open.
HarperCollins described the book as a deeply personal account of love, identity, duty and belonging, offering an insider’s perspective on India’s journey.
Earlier reports claimed Penguin India had declined to publish the memoir over disagreements concerning editorial changes. The publishing house subsequently rejected those claims.
