As per CNN, during a special parliamentary session on Monday, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was interrupted by relatives of hostages held in Gaza.
With signs and posters bearing the names and photos of their loved ones, the families protested as Netanyahu, who had just returned from Gaza, stated that the troops needed more time to complete their mission.
As the families expressed their disapproval by yelling “There is no time,” Netanyahu continued, to which the families responded with cries of “Now! Now! Now!” as reported by CNN.
As per ANI, reflecting on past interactions with families of fallen IDF soldiers, Netanyahu conveyed their determination, stating, “Our sons did not die in vain. We must not stop the war until we secure complete victory over those who wish us dead.”
According to ANI, signs held by the families conveyed messages such as “we trust you to bring them home,” “80 days, each minute is like hell.” A sign questioned, “what if this were your daughter,” and rotated between “daughter,” “father,” and “brother.” In response to this PM said, “We spare no effort.”
Netanyahu emphasised on government’s effort, “We will shake every tree and turn every stone to bring back all the kidnapped. Each one of them is precious. Since the beginning of the war, I have met with the families of the abductees, and I hear your personal stories. What is said here unites the people and unites us in a holy mission.”
The prime minister’s office reported that 129 hostages remain in Gaza. Out of them, 22 are known to be dead; their bodies, along with the 107 alive hostages is still in Gaza.
