Chandigarh Railway Station Upgrade Speeds Ahead As Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw Reviews Progress

Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw conducted a detailed inspection of the redevelopment work at Chandigarh Railway Station on Saturday, reviewing construction progress and ensuring that every component of the project moves according to schedule.

He evaluated ongoing upgrades meant to transform the station into a modern, passenger-friendly transit point.

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw emphasised the government’s commitment to transforming major railway stations into world-class transit hubs.

He said the redevelopment push aims to modernise facilities nationwide.

He said the Chandigarh project reflects this national vision with upgraded accessibility and larger waiting areas.

Ashwini Vaishnaw added that redesigned concourses and improved passenger movement are key components of the new design.

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw stressed that such redevelopment initiatives align with India’s goal of building modern, technology-driven public infrastructure.

The minister interacted with engineers, architects, and project teams on site.

He instructed them to maintain high construction standards, follow strict safety norms, and deliver the project within the stipulated timeline.

Railway Minister Vaishnaw highlighted that the revamped station will offer a smoother, more convenient travel experience and cater to rising passenger traffic in the region.

The redevelopment of Chandigarh Railway Station forms part of Indian Railways’ broader mission to modernise key stations nationwide.
