Jamia Hamdard celebrated the 78th NCC Day on November 28, 2025, with a dynamic and inspiring programme at the Archives Building.
The NCC Unit showcased its strong legacy of discipline, leadership, and national service through a series of ceremonial and cultural activities.
The event opened with the Recitation of the Holy Quran, setting a solemn tone for the celebrations.
University officials warmly felicitated the dignitaries before the Dean of Students’ Welfare delivered the welcome address.
Cadets from both the Boys’ and Girls’ Wings presented an impressive Guard of Honour and drill demonstrations, reflecting the rigorous training and discipline that define NCC.
Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Prof (Dr) M Afshar Alam, attended as the Chief Guest, while educationist and social worker Ms Hena Parveen graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour.
Senior officials actively joined the ceremony. The group included Registrar Col Tahir Mustafa, COE Mr Syed Saud Akhtar, and Director CDOE Prof (Dr) MA Sikandar.
Dean Students’ Welfare Prof (Dr) Reshma Nasreen, Deputy DSW Dr Uzma Bano, Lt (Dr) Mohd Ashif Khan, Lt. Maihnaz Bi, and Subedar Major Ajmer Singh from 4 Delhi Girls Battalion also attended.
Speakers highlighted NCC’s transformative role in shaping disciplined, responsible citizens.
They applauded the cadets’ year-long achievements at the university, state, and national levels.
In his Presidential Address, Prof (Dr) M Afshar Alam stressed that discipline forms the foundation of a successful life.
He praised NCC for nurturing leadership qualities, commitment, and a spirit of service among the youth.
Lt Maihnaz Bi administered the NCC Oath, reaffirming the cadets’ dedication to duty and nation.
The Rank Ceremony honoured outstanding performers and motivated cadets to strive for excellence.
Cultural performances added colour and energy, showcasing the creativity and enthusiasm of the NCC wings.
Lt (Dr) Mohd Ashif Khan delivered the Vote of Thanks, acknowledging the support of dignitaries, faculty, cadets, and staff.
The event concluded with the NCC Song, followed by the National Anthem and a plantation drive.
These activities inspired participants to continue serving the nation with dedication and pride.
