Heavy Rains In Northwest Pakistan Leave 5 People Dead
Five people, including a lady, were murdered and 27 others were injured on Sunday in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa region of northwest Pakistan as a result of torrential rains and strong winds, according to officials.
Pervez Sabatkhel, the commissioner of Bannu Division, reported that the storm had affected portions of the division’s bordering North Waziristan district.
Three persons perished in the Bannu area, one in North Waziristan, and one each in the Lakki Marwat and Bannu districts as a result of the heavy rains and high winds. 27 persons were hurt overall as a result of various roof and wall collapse accidents.
District officials are evaluating the harm done to life and property while district administrations have been placed on high alert to prepare for any situation.
The Bannu division has seen devastating storms twice this month. At least 27 individuals died in the division on June 11 as a result of walls collapsing and trees being uprooted.
