The chemicals used in the production of non-stick coatings release toxic fumes when heated at high temperatures. Therefore, it is better to avoid them as it can cause thyroid, respiratory problems and cancer.

ICMR has said that for cooking, earthen utensils are the safest. Cooking, eating and storing food in earthen utensils, all three are beneficial for health. These increase the nutrition in the food and at the same time, the taste of the food also increases.
