Watch: Couple beaten in MP supermarket, Forcefully made to touch accused’s feet

The victims said that when they went to the police but they denied to file a complaint as no female officer was present.

A group of people in a supermarket in Khandwa, Madhya Pradesh, are accused of beating up a couple following a minor accident that happened on Thursday. A video that went viral on social media shows the man and his wife being made to touch one of the accused’s feet in an attempt to apologise. CCTV footage of the incident showed a man striking the couple as staff members attempted to diffuse the situation.

As per sources, the accused followed the couple to the supermarket after they had a small mishap. The victim, a well-known professor in the city, claimed that after an altercation between her spouse and accused, the latter followed the couple to a supermarket and physically attacked them.

The couple was made to apologise to them during the abuse. In an attempt “to save her husband’s life,” the woman was even forced to touch the accused’s feet.

The victims said that when they went to the police but they denied to file a complaint as no female officer was present.

“If they don’t file a case, we will approach Prime Minister Modi and present the case,” the man said.

A similar incident occurred in Sonipat, Haryana, where a couple was beaten by a group of drunken men following an outburst of road rage. The incident, which was captured on camera, showed several men beating a man while his wife attempted to stop them. City police have opened an investigation into the situation.
