The crowd became so huge that a queue of about a kilometer long was formed on the road. Mahant Dharanand Brahmachari said that devotees have been coming since morning for Lord Shiva’s worship and darshan.

Devotees also performed Jalabhishek in the Koteshwar Mahadev temple situated on the banks of Ganga in Shivkuti. In the Shiv Kachari temple situated in Shivkuti, people are performing Jalabhishek on Shivling along with Lord Narayan. The Shivalayas are filled with the echo of Har-Har Mahadev.

Astrologers say that today on the occasion of Mahashivratri, many rare coincidences happened. Today Shivayoga is also being formed along with Pradosh. Due to Pradosh being present on the day of Shivratri and Shivayoga being performed along with it, this Mahashivratri is especially fruitful.
