On What Basis Did Ramdev Defy The Supreme Court?

Baba Ramdev not only defied Supreme Court’s order, but also held an open press conference the very next day indirectly questioning the order and made bold claims.

It is said that a person suffering from illness is ready to knock at every door for treatment. In such a situation, doctors with little knowlegdge often make them their victims by promising permanent treatment. But this time a person is being called a quack, whom people know by the name of Yoga Guru Ramdev. Ramdev, who is often in controversies due to his comments on politics and social issues, is the target of the Supreme Court this time. It is alleged that the Supreme Court prevented him from earning huge profits through misleading advertisements, so he did not refrain from calling a press conference and challenging even the country’s highest court.

Baba Ramdev’s Patanjali Ayurvedic Limited is in the grip of controversies. Company’s managing director Acharya Balkrishna and founder Baba Ramdev and the are on the target of the Supreme Court due to their actions. The case is related to misleading claims of permanent treatment of diseases considered incurable and openly challenging the order of the Supreme Court.

The allegation is that Baba Ramdev, who considered himself bigger than the law and the court, not only defied the order of the Supreme Court, but also held an open press conference the very next day indirectly questioning the order and making bold claims. Said that he would not care about orders. Perhaps this was the reason why he continued to openly disobey the court’s orders for several months.

What’s the matter?

In fact, the Indian Medical Association had filed a case in the Supreme Court and made serious allegations against Yoga Guru Ramdev. In which it was said that along with giving statements against allopathy treatment, Ramdev is also giving such advertisements with misleading claims, in which permanent cure of many major diseases is being claimed. After hearing the case on November 21 last year, Justice Ahsanuddin Amanullah and Justice Prashant Kumar Mishra had strongly reprimanded Patanjali.

Ramdev raised questions on court’s order

The surprising thing is that the very next day after the Supreme Court order, Ramdev along with Balkrishna organized a press conference and indirectly raised questions on the court’s order. Ramdev said that the group and gang of doctors have created an organization which spreads propaganda against yoga and naturopathy. There is no cure for many diseases in the synthetic world. Whereas we control diseases through evidence based treatment system. He also presented many such young men and women and claimed that he had completely cured their diabetes and thyroid disease. He claimed that he had proof that he completely cured incurable diseases. Also alleged that WHO and the entire modern medical system is lying.

IMA’s objection became heavy

Despite the order of the Supreme Court, Ramdev continued the series of misleading advertisements at the same pace against which the Indian Medical Association once again moved the court. While hearing the case, Justice Hima Kohli and Justice Ahsanuddin Amanullah said that despite the court order, the series of misleading advertisements is continuing, along with which objectionable comments are being made against other medical systems. The bench said that you are forcing the court. He also immediately banned the telecast of all the misleading advertisements of Patanjali.

Patanjali has been questioned regarding its products

In the year 2022, the Food Safety Department of Uttarakhand Government had tested the sample of cow ghee. In which it was found that it is adulterated and it is harmful for health. The Ayurvedic and Unani Department of the Uttarakhand government had also banned the production of some medicines of Patanjali like Bipigrit, Madhu Grit, Thyrogrit and iGrit Gold etc. Later the company got this ban removed by giving information about the revised formulation. During Covid in the year 2021, Patanjali had made misleading claims by boasting of curing Corona in seven days through “Coronil”. But after AYUSH department’s strict actions, it was sold in the name of immune booster.
