After the congress claimed that in the G20 dinner invite the President is referred as “President of Bharat”, NCP leader Sharad Pawar said that no one has the right to change the name of the country.
As per Sharad Pawar, a discussion will be held on this issue in a meeting to be held on Wednesday, convened by Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge with chiefs of the parties comprising the INDIA bloc. At a press conference in Maharashtra’s Jalgaon district, the NCP chief said, “I don’t understand why the ruling party is perturbed over a name related to the country.”
On being asked if India’s name will be changed in the constitution, Sharad Pawar said, “I don’t have any information on it.” He further added, “There will be deliberation on this in the meeting, but no one has the right to change the name (of the country). No one can change the name.”
As the G20 dinner invite refers President as “President of Bharat”, the congress called it an assault on the ‘Union Of States’ by the Modi Government. The G20 summit is to be held from 9 to 10 September in New Delhi, the event will be attended by several leaders from the world including US President Joe Biden.
