In Mumbai, a man killed his live-in partner, chopped her body into pieces and disposed some of the body parts. This horrific killing holds similarity with the gruesome Shraddha Walkar murder case, in which police arrested a guy for killing his live-in partner and cutting her body into several pieces.
According to a senior official at the Naya Nagar police station, the victim, 32-year-old Saraswati Vaidya, was discovered in her flat on the seventh floor of a residential building in Geeta Nagar, Mira Road, late Wednesday.
Vaidya has been in a live-in relationship with her lover, 56 year old Manoj Sahani, for three years in a rented flat, according to the official. Residents in the block called the police after noticing a foul smell coming from Vaidya’s flat, according to the official.
When the police reached the crime site it found Vaidya’s decomposed body chopped into multiple pieces. Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) of Mumbai, Jayant Bajbale, said, “A preliminary investigation revealed that the woman was brutally killed.”
Authorities have arrested Sahani in connection with the heinous crime. Investigators have yet to reveal the motive behind the crime.
The inquiry is still ongoing as officials try to put together what happened before Vaidya’s horrific death. Mr Bajbale said, “The situation is deeply troubling, and we are committed to finding justice for Ms Vaidya. We urge the public to come forward with any information they may have to aid in our investigation.”
