Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas: PM Modi-President Murmu pay tribute to Bhagwan Birsa Munda his birth anniversary

Besides paying floral tributes to Birsa Munda, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also visited the Bhagwan Birsa Munda Memorial Park and Freedom Fighter Museum in Ranchi.

President Droupadi Murmu led the country in honouring tribal leader Bhagwan Birsa Munda on his birth anniversary, known as Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas, today in a solemn ceremony held on the Parliament grounds.

Vice President and Chairman of the Rajya Sabha Jagdeep Dhankhar, Speaker of the Lok Sabha Om Birla, Minister of State for External Affairs and Culture Meenakashi Lekhi, and other dignitaries joined President Murmu in honoring Bhagwan Birsa Munda. The event served as a show of respect for the tribal hero who gave his life to upholding the nation’s independence and identity.

“Heartfelt tribute to ‘Dharti Aaba’ Bhagwan Birsa Munda, the symbol of tribal bravery who sacrificed everything to protect the independence of the motherland and identity of the tribal society, on the occasion of his birth anniversary, I extend hearty greetings on this occasion celebrated in honour of tribal pride”, he said in a post on X.

Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, Union Minister of Tribal Affairs Arjun Munda, and Jharkhand Governor CP Radhakrishnan accompanied the prime minister.
