INC Offers Varun Gandhi To Join Congress After BJP Replaces Him With Jitin Prasad In Pilibhit

Congress extended an offer to Varun Gandhi, the sitting member of parliament from Pilibhit, Uttar Pradesh, after the BJP removed him off its list of candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections. On Tuesday, senior Congressman Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury declared that Varun Gandhi is “most welcome” to become a member of the historic party.

Speaking to reporters, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury claimed that Varun Gandhi’s ties to the Gandhi family were the reason why BJP removed him from the election contest.

Adhir Chowdhury said, “He (Varun Gandhi) should join Congress. We will be happy if he joins. He is a tall leader, and a well-educated politician. His image exudes transparency, and he has relations with the Gandhi family. This is the reason why the BJP did not give him a ticket. We want Varun Gandhi to join Congress now.”

On Sunday, March 24, the BJP unveiled its fifth list of candidates for the Lok Sabha, leaving out Varun Gandhi, the sitting Member of Parliament for Pilibhit, Uttar Pradesh. However, his mother Maneka Gandhi, who was elected from Sultanpur is still in the list.

Varun Gandhi has been replaced by former Congress lawmaker Jitin Prasada, who defected to BJP in 2021. Prasada is running from Pilibhit.
