Another Pakistan HC Official Declared ‘Persona Non Grata’ By India; Told To Leave Country Within 24 Hours

India expelled a Pakistani official from the Pakistani High Commission in New Delhi on Wednesday evening.

Authorities declared him persona non grata for activities not in line with his diplomatic role.

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) ordered him to leave India within 24 hours.

The MEA summoned the Charge d’Affaires of the Pakistan High Commission and issued a demarche.

India warned Pakistan to ensure that its officials do not misuse their diplomatic status.

Last week, India expelled another Pakistani diplomat for similar reasons.

Punjab Police arrested two men from Malerkotla on May 13. They allegedly leaked Army movement details to a Pakistani handler.

Officials linked the handler to the Pakistani High Commission in New Delhi.

Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav said police acted on strong intelligence. The first man was caught leaking sensitive information.

Interrogation led to the second suspect. Both received money through online payments.

Police recovered two mobile phones and filed an FIR. The suspects also moved funds to other local operatives on the handler’s instructions.

After the Pahalgam terror attack, which killed 26 civilians, India took strong diplomatic steps. It declared Pakistan’s Defence, Naval, and Air Advisors in New Delhi persona non grata. All were ordered to leave within a week.

India also recalled its own Service Advisors from Islamabad. Both sides withdrew five support staff.

In response to the attack, India launched Operation Sindoor.

Security forces targeted nine terror camps across the Line of Control and in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).
