A man strangled 28 year old daughter with dupatta while sleeping as he was unhappy with her divorce in Dasna on Sunday. According to the authorities, Rukhsar moved back into her parent’s home on July 12 following her divorce and has been residing there ever since. She got into a heated confrontation with her father, Ahmad Ali, on Saturday night because he blamed her for the divorce. Around 4 am, Ahmad allegedly went to his daughter’s room, opened the cupboard, and used a dupatta to choke her to death. Then he left the home.

Ahmad accused Rukhsar of maligning the family. His wife said, “It turned into a heated argument, and they returned to their rooms to sleep. Through the night, Ahmad kept tossing and turning in the bed and when everyone in the house was in deep sleep around 4 am, he tiptoed to Rukhsar’s room. He found a dupatta, strangled her with it and fled the house,” the officer said.
