According to police, a minor has been arrested for allegedly killing a man with a knife during a robbery that happened in the Samaypur Badli neighbourhood of north Delhi last month.
Five people, including two minors, were previously detained by police for allegedly killing a person and injuring his friend on September 27 for barely Rs 200.
Police claim that the accused, who were all intoxicated, attacked two bystanders with a knife, stick, and iron rod. Siddhu, one of the victims, had been stabbed in the stomach and passed away; Manish, another victim, was taken in critical condition to a nearby hospital. They claimed that the accused had stolen Rs 200 from them before fleeing.
According to Special Commissioner of Police for Crime Ravindra Singh Yadav, “during the course of the investigation, police learned that the deceased and the injured were in the business of supplying drinking water. Both were en route to collect overdue payments at the time of the incident.
The Delhi Police’s Crime Branch team apprehended the absconding juvenile on Wednesday night, police said. “One remaining juvenile was evading his apprehension since the registration of the case. Team got a tip-off about his whereabouts, and apprehended the accused, Yadav said.
“The juvenile confessed his involvement in the case. It also came to notice that, on the day of the incident, before killing Siddhu, he along with his associates also robbed two others,” he said.
