A 24-year-old woman called her boyfriend and made a vicious remark after fatally strangling his minor son. “I took away the most precious thing from you,” remarked the accused, identified as Pooja Kumari.
Pooja Kumari was arrested on Tuesday, five days after the murder.
Since 2019 Pooja and Jatinder were living together under one roof. They got married in in an Arya Samaj temple on 17 October 2019, but couldn’t register their marriage legally since Jitender hadn’t divorced his wife. The two fought regularly about this issue. Last year in December, Jitendra finally left the rental home in which they were living in and went back to reside with his family.
According to Police , Pooja was angry and blamed Jatinder’s 11-year-old son for abandoning her and for delaying in getting divorced . More than 300 CCTV recordings from the area of the crime site were examined by the police after the case of murder was reported. The CCTV footage of a camera outside the boy’s house led to the identification of the accused.
The reported video showed a woman walking into the house while wearing a blue scarf over her face. The woman was carrying a handbag, and was wearing jeans and top. In another video the lady was seen hiding her face with a scarf.
The investigators were able to verify through additional CCTV footage analysis that Pooja was the last individual to visit the 11-year-old boy’s home in Inderpuri.
