Delhi Liquor Policy: “Will Answer All Questions,” Says Kejriwal As He Appears Before CBI

Arvind Kejriwal, the chief minister of Delhi, is scheduled to appear before the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Sunday, two days after the agency called him in connection with an alleged excise policy scam.

Kejriwal is scheduled to testify before the CBI in the case, which already resulted in the imprisonment of Manish Sisodia, the former deputy chief minister of Delhi.

The CBI would ask him to provide clarifications on the allegations made by witnesses and suspects in their statements regarding the excise policy that has since been discontinued. Over three months after the CBI filed a charge sheet in the case, Sisodia was detained in February.

Meanwhile, the Aam Aadmi Party asserted on Saturday that the investigation was launched by the Centre in an effort to “silence” Arvind Kejriwal because Prime Minister Narendra Modi was “frightened after AAP became a national party.” “On Sunday, CM Arvind Kejriwal will visit the CBI office. He will assist the probe, the leader of the Aam Aadmi Party, Atishi, declared at a press conference.

The Enforcement Directorate has claimed that AAP “used” a portion of the purported $100 crore in “kickbacks” from the dismantled Delhi excise policy towards the 2022 Goa assembly election campaign.
