“Congress Aims To Break Family System And Weaken Society”: BJP MLA Dr. Rajeshwar Singh Over Inheritance Tax

Rajeshwar Singh said “In India, the bonds of family and kinship are very strong, which form the foundation of our country, culture and religion.”

Amidst the Lok Sabha elections-2024, Indian Overseas Congress President Sam Pitroda has praised an American law while advocating for inheritance tax. During one of his interviews, Sam Pitroda said that inheritance tax in America is an interesting law and it can be an issue on which people can debate and discuss. He said, ‘There is inheritance tax in America. If someone has assets worth $100 million and when he dies, he can transfer only 45 percent to his children and 55% goes to the government. This is an interesting law.”

Now Dr. Rajeshwar Singh, BJP MLA from Sarojini Nagar assembly seat of Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, has also shared a post regarding this on social media platform X (formerly Twitter). In which he has raised questions on the mentality of Congress and condemned the proposal of inheritance tax.

Congress under the influence of foreign forces

In his post, MLA Dr. Rajeshwar Singh has said that “In India, the bonds of family and kinship are very strong, which forms the foundation of our country, culture and religion. People try to earn not only for themselves but also for their children and family. However, the Congress mentality of snatching away the hard-earned money of children and families is atrocious! It seems that they are under the influence of foreign forces and their aim is to break our family system and weaken our society. We have the highest rates of suicide and depression in foreign countries due to weak family and kinship systems.”

Dr. Rajeshwar Singh explained the disadvantages of inheritance tax through statistics.

Dr. Rajeshwar Singh explained this very well through statistics in his post and further said, “Consider the statistics: The divorce rate in America is 14.56 per 1,000 married women, which is among the 100 countries most likely to divorce. While India ranks 19th, it is only 0.01 (about 1%) per 1,000 people in 2022, which is one of the lowest in the world. Similarly, 13.9% of the total population of America is affected by alcohol addiction, whereas in India it is 4.9%. Depression is prevalent in more than 1 in 10 people in the United States, while in India it is less than half! Regarding suicide, the US has a rate of 14.51 per 1 lakh population (31st rank), which is much higher than India! The inheritance tax proposal is not only shameful but also harmful!”
