Budget 2024: Union Minister Pralhad Joshi To Hold All Party Meet Today

The interim union budget will be presented by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on upcoming Thursday.

Before the next Budget Session begins, Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Pralhad Joshi will meet floor leaders of the major parties in both houses of Parliament. An all-party meeting will be held at the Parliament Library Building this afternoon.

President Droupadi Murmu’s presentation will kick off the session on Wednesday. Depending on the demands of government business, it might end on February 9, 2024.

On Thursday, the interim union budget will be presented by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.

Usually, the interim budget meets the financial obligations of the transitional period until a government is established following the Lok Sabha elections.

Prior to the budget announcement, the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) released a number of important proposals.

These include expanding capital expenditures by 20% to Rs 12 lakh crores, creating a full-fledged Ministry of Investment, incorporating real estate, power, and petroleum into the GST and aiming for a 3-rate structure, and reaching disinvestment targets and laying up a three-year timeline for disinvestment.
