Budget Session

The second phase of budget session is underway in Parliament, and amidst ongoing protests, the Modi government introduce Waqf Amendment Bill.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will reply to the vote of thanks by President's address shortly. As per the information shared by the Prime Minister's office PM will address the Lok Sabha around 5 PM today. 

In the major announcement, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said the government will introduce a new Income Tax Bill next week.

Union FM Nirmala Sitharaman will present the Budget for 2025-'26 on February 1. Sitharaman will present the Union Budget for the eighth consecutive time.

The Economic Survey, a key pre-budget document, will be presented in Parliament by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman at 12 PM on Friday.

The Parliament’s Budget session began with President Droupadi Murmu addressing a joint sitting of both Houses at around 11 am.

PM Narendra Modi arrived in Parliament today as the Budget session commenced. Several Union ministers, including Home Minister Amit Shah, also arrived for the session.

The Parliament's Budget Session for 2025 will begin on January 31 and run until April 4, with the session divided into two parts.
