6th accused in Parliament security breach case arrested by Delhi Police

On December 13, two people jumped from the visitors’ gallery into the Lok Sabha chamber, releasing yellow smoke canisters.

Sixth accused in the Parliament security breach case, Mahesh Kumawat, was taken into custody by the Delhi Police on Saturday after it was confirmed by officials that he was involved in conspiracy.

He is from Rajasthan’s Nagaur district. On December 13, two people jumped from the visitors’ gallery into the Lok Sabha chamber, igniting smoke canisters.

The main conspirator, Lalit Jha, absconded from Delhi to Mahesh’s hideout in Rajasthan following the incident. Along with Lalit, Mahesh destroyed the cell phones of the four accused individuals who were detained.

Neelam Devi, who was detained for protesting outside the Parliament while other members of the group entered the parliament.

On Thursday, Mahesh and Suresh surrendered together at New Delhi police station. Kailash, Mahesh’s cousin, was also questioned by the police, he has not yet been taken into custody.

On November 13, at Zero Hour, two men, Sagar Sharma and Manoranjan D, jumped from the public gallery into the Lok Sabha’s chamber, spewed slogans and used canisters to release yellow smoke, but were eventually overpowered by the MPs.
