6 New Born Die At Hospital In Vivek Vihar Due To Massive Fire Break Out, Case Registered

Firefighters and police officers arrived on information and extinguished the fire.

In the late hours of Saturday, a major fire broke out at a New Born Baby Care Hospital in Vivek Vihar, Delhi, resulting in the deaths of up to six babies.

Twelve children were rescued, six of whom have passed away, one is on a ventilator, and five of them are hospitalized, according to Delhi Fire Department.

Delhi Police has registered an FIR against Naveen Kichi, the owner of the New Born Baby Care Hospital, under sections 336 (endangering life of personal safety of others), 304A (death by negligence) and 34 (criminal activity) of the IPC. He is currently absconding.

Fire Officer Rajesh, said, “At 11:32 pm, Fire Service Control Room received information that fire broke out at a hospital…total 16 fire tenders reached the spot and fire has been extinguished completely. 2 buildings were affected by the fire, one is the hospital building and 2 floors of a residential building on the right side also caught fire…11-12 people were rescued and they were taken to hospital. Further details will be shared later”.

The tragedy occurred the same day when a large fire that destroyed a game zone in Rajkot, Gujarat, claiming lives of 27 people.
