One of Bollywood’s top actors, Ranveer Singh, is often described as enigmatic, energizing, and vivacious. Since making his acting debut in the 2010 movie Band Baja Baarat opposite Anushka Sharma, Ranveer has starred in numerous box office smashes and earned a loyal following of fans. His talent as an actor and vivacious stage presence have helped him solidify his place as one of the best actors in the entertainment industry. Ranveer’s on-screen personas are loved just as much as his charming off-screen personality.

Interesting Facts

On July 6, 1985, Ranveer Singh Bhavnani was born in Mumbai. He comes from a Pakistani Sindhi family with roots in Karachi. Following the separation, his grandparents migrated to India.

Sonam Kapoor Ahuja and Ranveer Singh are second cousins. Ranveer’s grandfather and Sonam’s maternal grandmother are connected. Ranveer Singh played a big role in the Kapoor-Ahuja wedding, hosting the Mehendi ceremony alongside Arjun Kapoor.

Ranveer attended Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana, to complete his Bachelor of Arts degree before entering the film industry.

Singh made additional money while attending Indiana University by selling his homemade butter chicken and working as a server at Starbucks.

Ranveer Singh changed his name to “Ranveer Singh” instead of his actual surname, Bhavnani, claiming he wanted a short and simple name.

Ranveer Singh changed his In Band Baaja Baaraat (2010) from Yash Raj Films, Ranveer makes his Bollywood debut as Bittoo Sharma alongside Anushka Sharma.

Singh declined two offers before accepting the part of Bittoo Sharma in Band Baaja Baaraat (2010) because he thought they weren’t appropriate for his debut. Ranveer Singh participated in an acting session with Nawazuddin Siddiqui after landing his first role, which was organized by the producers.

For his first movie, Band Baaja Baaraat, he won a number of awards, including the prestigious Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut.

Ranveer earned the title of “The Livewire of Bollywood” thanks to his electrifying on-stage presence and high-energy performances. Rap music is a passion of Ranveer’s, and for his 2019 film Gully Boy, he even worked with performers like Divine and Naezy.

Singh and his close buddy Navzar Eranee started their own indie music label, IncInk Records, in March 2019.
