Following a significant fire in a parking lot that partially collapsed, London’s Luton Airport announced on Wednesday that it had canceled all flights and advised visitors not to go there.

In a statement, the airport stated, “The safety of our passengers and staff remains our main priority. We have therefore taken the decision to suspend all flights until 12 pm on Wednesday 11th October”.

“Passengers are advised not to travel to the airport at this time, as access remains severely restricted”, it continued.

According to the Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue Service, the crew was putting out the fire and guarding against its spread to neighboring buildings and cars at the airport.

London’s Luton Airport tweeted, “One-half of the structure is fully involved in fire and the building has suffered a significant structural collapse. Local residents are advised to close windows and doors and avoid the area”, through its official ‘X’ handle, formerly Twitter.
