Subhash Ghai Hails PM Modi’s Transformative Vision For India

Acclaimed filmmaker Subhash Ghai has expressed deep admiration for Prime Minister Narendra Modi, crediting him with steering India not only towards rapid development but also reshaping the thought process of its citizens for holistic national progress.

Ahead of the completion of 11 years under PM Modi’s leadership, Ghai revisited his 2014 film Kanchi—which featured the patriotic song ‘Saare jahan se accha, wo Hindustan kahan hai?’—highlighting the atmosphere of disappointment prevalent at that time.

“Back then, we questioned whether India was truly a country better than the rest of the world,” Ghai recalled, underscoring the yearning for change that existed prior to Modi’s rise.

A Government Committed To Transforming Minds

Ghai acknowledged the initial scepticism PM Modi faced, saying, “People opposed that government, asking why so much change was necessary. But I understood from what PM Modi said that his goal was not just development, but to transform the national character of India.”

He appreciated PM Modi’s vision to influence the collective mindset alongside infrastructural progress, stating, “I liked this very much. Then I thought, let’s wait.”

He lauded the government’s consistent performance, noting tangible growth every three to four years across sectors like infrastructure, technology, and defence.

“We have a powerful government with a vision beyond five years, looking to 2047. Such long-term vision allows steady progress,” Ghai emphasised.

Ghai highlighted rising patriotism, stating that Indians now stand united and ready to face any threat.

He cited changes in education and youth mindset as signs of transformation, noting the government’s goal to make India a global leader.

Reflecting on his childhood in post-independence India, Ghai remembered a country perceived as poor despite its vast resources.

He called the strides made under PM Modi’s leadership ‘commendable’ and a source of pride for the nation.

Ghai also highlighted India’s enhanced international respect.

“Whenever I travel abroad, I see the difference in how Indians are perceived. Earlier, people saw us as poor and educated only enough to queue patiently,” he said.

“Today, Indians are respected as producers and innovators, not just consumers.”

He concluded by congratulating PM Modi and his government for the sweeping progress in every field, celebrating the country’s growing stature on the world stage.

Subhash Ghai’s reflections capture a narrative of India’s evolving identity—a nation driven by development and a renewed patriotic spirit under Prime Minister Modi’s visionary leadership.
