Lok Sabha Elections: Kanhaiya Kumar Files Nomination From North East Delhi Seat

Kanhaiya, who is running for a second term in the Lok Sabha, will fight against Manoj Tiwari, a two-term MP for the BJP, in the election.

In the current Lok Sabha elections, Kanhaiya Kumar, a former JNU student leader and Congress candidate for the North East Delhi Lok Sabha seat, filed his nomination on Monday.

Before he filed his nomination, the politician, who was a student leader before posted several pictures of himself on X with leaders of various faith. In one picture, he was seen participating in a “hawan” and Sarvdharam prayers.

“Today, before filing my nomination, Gurus of all religions presented me with the Preamble of the Constitution and prayed for me and blessed me. This is our India. This is our Constitution. ‘Sarva Dharma Sam Bhaav’. I will sacrifice my life to protect this India and its Constitution,” he said on X.

He posted a video yesterday in which he declared his intention to fight against injustice and pleaded with people not to let off fireworks while considering the environment.

Kanhaiya, who is running for a second term in the Lok Sabha, will fight against Manoj Tiwari, a two-term MP for the BJP, in the election.

Kumar ran in 2019 from Begusarai, Bihar, as a candidate for the Communist Party of India (CPI). Giriraj Singh, a union minister and leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party, defeated him. Later, in 2021, he became a member of Congress.
