Octopus Found In Singapore Man’s Throat; Patient Complained Of Vomiting, Doctors Flabbergasted

It is said that no disease or situation can be weird for doctors, but this time even the doctors were flabbergasted when an octopus was found stuck in throat of Singapore Man. The patient felt something awry as he faced difficulty in swallowing, he started puking after having his meal which included the octopus.

The unnamed patient ran to Tan Tock Seng Hospital where doctors conducted a CT scan, which revealed a super-dense mass in the man’s esophagus.

This incident happened in 2018 which was covered by top medical journals. According to Clinical Gastroenterology and Hepatology (CGH), the patient was 55 years old. The doctors used forceps to grasp the octopus head, gently pulling it out of the patient’s body. However the patient recovered well.

It is not the first time such incident has been reported. According to New York Post, In 2016, a two-year-old boy in Kansas was hospitalized after getting an octopus lodged in his throat after a sushi meal.
