“Nepal And India Should Discuss Border Issue Keeping Map Before Them”: Nepal PM

In the dialouge both the leaders even vowed to resolve border conflicts.

Nepal Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’said that both the countries( India and Nepal) sit down and disscuss to resolve border issues.

Leaders vowed to resolve border conflicts

‘Prachanda’ visited India for the first time on May 31 and stayed till June 3. This was his first official trip after assuming office in 2022. On Thursday, Narendra Modi had a meeting with ‘Prachanda’ as a result of which both the countries signed seven agreements and even launched six projects. In the dailouge both the leaders even vowed to resolve border conflicts.

Both the countries should sit and talk

When asked about the agreements made during his visit to India, he said that both the countries should have discussion regarding border issue keeping the map in front in them.
The Prime Minister told the Parliament, “Discussions have been held on several issues during my India visit. We are concerned on matters relating to national interest and sovereignty. Talks have also been held on the issue of the map.”

 ‘Prachanda’ Offered prayer at Mahakaleshwar Temple

Responding to lawmakers about the question if he was an atheist or not, he said that he believed in secularism. He further added, “No one should do anything that belittles the religious faith.” Prachanda also offered prayers in Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain city of Madhya Pradesh during his wearing his visit wearing a saffron shawl.

Purpose behind visiting Indore

Nepal PM clarifying his main purpose behind visiting Indore, he told lawmakers that he went there to learn waste management and development of IT. The bilateral ties between India and Nepal deteriorated in 2020 when Nepal published a new political map showing Limpiyadhura, Kalapani and Lipulekh which is Indian territory as a part of Nepal. India on the other hand declared such action as a “unilateral act” and warned Nepal that ‘artificial enlargement’ of territory wont be accepted.
