On Wednesday, the G7 nations vowed to provide “enduring” military assistance to Ukraine in order to help it in fighting the Russian invasion and putting an end to future conflicts.
“We will each work with Ukraine on specific, bilateral, long-term security commitments and arrangements towards ensuring a sustainable force capable of defending Ukraine now and deterring Russian aggression in the future,” the G7 said in a statement obtained by AFP.
International supporters of Ukraine are attempting to reassure Kyiv of their commitment after NATO declined to extend an invitation for the war-torn nation to join military alliance.
The forces of Ukraine will be given “modern military equipment, across land, air, and sea domains,” according to the group of seven leading democracies, which includes the United States, Britain, France, Germany, Italy, Canada, and Japan.
According to the statement, this entails giving “priority to air defence, artillery, long-range fires, armoured vehicles, and other key capabilities, such as combat air.”
The world powers declared that, “in the event of a future Russian armed attack,” they would quickly dispatch military and financial aid to Ukraine.
