An unbelievable incident came to light in Rewa district of Madhya Pradesh, a man is reported to have thrown gold ornaments valued at lakhs of rupees in a dustbin.
Before heading out on vacation, to keep gold ornaments out of sight, so that the thieves could not make to it, Mishra family carefully hid them in a dustbin.
As usual, the son-in-law who arrived ahead of the family threw the trash can into the garbage van that was pulling up outside the Rewa house for door-to-door garbage collection. He had no idea that there was jewellery in the trash can. Unexpectedly, until the following day, no one talked about or even brought up the jewellery left in the bin, even after the family had returned.
When one of the family members checked the dustbin and found it empty he informed the other family members. They were shocked to learn that the trash can was empty and confessed that it had been used as a safe. The Mishra family thought it would be safe to store the gold ornaments in a dustbin inside the house, so the thieves never found it.
The family’s safety precautions were a complete failure. Before the news was published, no jewellery was found.
